As the COVID-19 Pandemic continues to ravage the lives of many globally, there have been many noteworthy effects that are rippling throughout the global economy. These effects transcend human health and threaten the success of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. One such issue is the increase in medical waste pollution which may be attributed to the improper disposal of personal protective equipment (PPE), for example, face masks.

 

In this regard, a campaign is being organised and implemented by final year Integrated Marketing Communication students at The University of the West Indies to encourage our target audience to dispose of single-use masks properly. By extension, the campaign also seeks to encourage frequent washing of reusable masks.
